Easy Delicious Crock-Pot Green Beans and Bacon

This green bean recipe is an absolute FAVORITE in my house. I make it for BBQ’s as a side, for regular dinners and holiday dinners. Takes 5 minutes to make, let it simmer all day and mmm mmm…so good!

When I make my coffee in the morning, I throw everything into a Crock-Pot and turn it to high. Within a couple of hours, the green beans will smell rich and delicious.

Ingredients for Green Beans and Bacon:

6 or 7 slices of Thick sliced bacon
6 14.5 Oz cans of green beans or 1 large family size container of green beans + 2 14.5 Oz cans
1 32 Oz container Chicken Broth (I use the 33% less Salt, but any will work)
Salt and pepper to taste

Prepare the Green Beans:

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Plug in your Crock-Pot

Open the Green beans and drain the liquid, pour into the Crock-Pot

Lay the bacon out flat and slice into bite size pieces, sprinkle on top of the green beans

Sprinkle salt and pepper over the top, you don’t need a lot since the bacon will really bring a lot of flavor

Pour the chicken broth into the Crock-Pot and stir everything up just a little

Turn on your Crock-Pot to high

Let the beans simmer for 6-8 hours and serve

MMM MMM Yummy!!

Order of Operations:

Prepare your Crock-Pot
Put all ingredients into the Crock-Pot
Turn it on to high
Cook for 6-8 hours
Enjoy!

Important notes for you:

Fresh snapped green beans are amazing in this recipe in place of the canned beans. However, they are very expensive during the winter and adds another 20-30 minutes to preparation time.

Be creative with this if you want – add some chopped yellow onions to enhance the flavor

I use the small 3 Quart Crock-Pot with the quantities above. If you have a lot of people to feed, I recommend pulling out your 7 Quart Crock-Pot and double the recipe. Perfect for Thanksgiving dinners!

Deliciousness!

This is an amazing and easy way to get your green beans in during your holiday meals if you are tired of the same green bean casserole. I have never fed this to anyone and had them not like it.

Plus how many things would you like to be able to make and forget about all day while you are preparing the rest of your meal! I would love to hear comments about the recipe or if you make a change to it! Please comment below.
